Wtb-Motometer rear guage bracket/clamp& oil temp sender
bjc1vw - November 25th, 2014 at 07:10 PM

Hello All,
After a rear mounting bracket / clamp to suit early motometer fuel or temp guage ( as per photos). Correct round mounting nuts too,if possible.

Also after a working motometer oil temp sender to suit mid 50's guage.
(Who knows, someone might have one!)

Cheers, Bernie

G'day Empi,
Have not had much to do with the clocks, but from memory the clocks are deeper and the bracket is in two pieces, but could stand correcting on this. Does yours look like the above photo?

Oil temp senders are hard to find for the 50's Motometer oil temp guage. You can use a VDO sender , but the guage will read backwards as the rheostat is reversed in the Motometer sender. You need to find a sensor that has no resistance when cold and increases resistance as the temp goes up.

The brackets are very similar to the older VDO or Smiths style

No worries at all mate. I love that motometer stuff. Had a rally pack in my old oval years back. Still have a bit of motometer stuff squirrelled away for one day. Mainly the newer smaller style guages and senders.
