Wiper switch wanted newcastle REVISED
donn - March 26th, 2015 at 04:37 AM

I'm after a wiper switch for my '76 superbug, willing to take the complete turn / wiper unit if required, need it in Newcastle by Saturday PM, willing to travel to pick up if required. PM or call me zero 4 one nine 2 4 o 315
Thanks
Don
Still on the wiper switch, there is another problem that I'm trying to solve, related to an after market steering wheel, so I'm thinking that maybe a switch out of a different dub may do, maybe a square or a notch, just not sure if they are interchangable, any help appreciated

No mate the offset is different, the bug has a big crank whereas the T2 has a slight angle on the shaft. The bug one would hit the steering wheel.

What exactly seems to be the problem?

The problem with the s/wheel is that the offset on the wiper arm hits the "spokes" on the wheel, only just but not good, not sure why as it didn't hit with the switch that was on the car when I got it,have checked everything I can see that may have altered and have finaly arived at the decision that the replacement switch I installed must have a slightly larger offset. Also the switch that I have on now seems (according to the auto electrician that I eventualy took it to) to have a fault in it which stops the first speed on the wipers to not work and also the horn dosn't work, the self park and the 2nd speed work fine, so it's not all bad, seems a bit odd to me but I think if I can get a switch with a straight arm that will still plug into the existing plug and still marry to the original indicator switch then all should me OK.
Bit of a ramble, hope it makes sense.:spin:

put up a pic Don
maybe the tongue of the steerwheel variation is the prob
shaft spline variations maybe ??

Hi bushed, pic won't tell much, only thing changed was a new ( second hand) wiper switch, coupled to the existing indicator switch, the s/ wheel was on the car when I bought it.
Thanks anyway

Could you repair the old one so it fits nicely?
