Wtb karmann ghia parts
rothko78 - April 9th, 2015 at 09:53 PM

After a couple of parts for my 1960 karmann ghia.

Need a drivers side front bumper section.

Door locks wih keys. Just need the barrels and keys not the whole handle.

And if anyone has a roof liner that isn't installed I could make a pattern off.

Thanks
Brad

goodluck. if you are missing the bumper piece then I suggest you try for a full stainless bar(1 piece) (search on his site). BUT don't throwaway the other 2 pieces. just maybe someone will need them. And the one overider is also worth keeping.

Yeah realising they are hard to come by the bumper sections. Had one tracked down but the guy went quiet.
Been considering making up my own section for it. As its a rat it doesn't need to be perfect.

Apologies for hijacking the post, but Steve (or anyone) have some decent euro over riders for a '63 Ghia? I don't think mine will re chrome very well.

Angus,
The overriders are cast Aluminium and they are generally quite thick material that can be linished/ground/sanded down to a smooth finish by the chrome platers during polishing & prep. Just make sure your electroplaters have the facilities to plate aluminium... not many chrome platers do aluminium these days... they are around, you just have to ring and ask...

Its a different chemical process and most don't do it because of lack of demand, but some most certainly still do...

Thanks Jason, I guess I'll see what they say when they see them.
