More pics of engine out the van I had it in.
just fo rgeneral interest
economy?
fuel type?
would need a 6rib box in gd cond?
loom avail?? needed?
cheers B.
Economy not sure, being Japanese I can only imagine pretty good. Kombi weight compared to the car it came from would prob be fairly similar.
Fuel would be 95 or 98 unleaded.
Gearbox have to be yes a 2ltr, a World Renowned Drag Racer in QLD Wally Pemboss has had one in his T2 Dualcab for many years, and he said it has been
very trouble free.
Yes I do have the Lexus loom for the engine but it would need to adapted to suit.
Check out these engines on YouTube, a very smooth running engine, example shown by standing a 50 cent pc on top of the inlet manifold and revving it
up and the coin stays standing.
Cheers Mike.
Any general interest ! ?
Yes interest, my 16 year old son thinks he has to have this v8 to replace the 1900cc Mike !?!
I'm very interested. Just working out what's involved with the wiring side of things. Does it come with the complete wiring loom from the donor car?
Yes I do have the Lexus loom for the engine but it would need to adapted to suit.
Crazy, a change over like this will need someone with automotive electrical knowledge.
The engine is at my work in Campsie if you want to come over and have a look at it.
Daimo I like your sons way of thinking.
Cost breakdown :
Engine, loom, headers and ECU $1500
Adaptor conversion. $850
Clutch kit. Custom. $650
Balance and machine clutch surface on Flywheel $200
Any tackers ?
Only looking for $1500.......
Any more specs on engine? Age? Capacity? Kms? Is it ok?
I was told that it has come from a 1996 or 97 and was a Auto as it had a drive plate, torque converter and Auto Trans with it when I bought it.
It's a 4 ltr as the heading shows, it's a 32 valve quad cam, it has hemi style combustion chambers in the heads and has 6 bolt main bearing caps
holding the crank in, ( a big block Chev engine has 4 bolt mains ). These engines are rated at 262 hp and are very smooth running.
Have a look on You Tube at the demo of a 50 cent pc standing up on the Inlet manifold while running and reving the engine.
Km's wer at 260,000 when removed from the Lexus that was written off due to rear end damage, so there's no reason to be a problem.
I have turned the engine over manually quit a few times.
Cheers I hope this helps Mike.
