I have been gathering bits for my 72 micro including a 2ltr EFI motor, but I'm considering sticking to what I am more familiar with - ie;upright
motors. This way it will bolt straight into my bus without patching into the wiring harness (not my strength at all)
Years ago I had a ripper little SP 1776 that ran a single 34Pict carb and may have been the best little motor I've ever had. Nice and Torquey (?).
Anyone out there got a good SP motor to swap for this good solid 2ltr EFI motor?
It will come with harness and EFI tank.
Its still in the van so you can hear it run if interested.
TXT me 0414726194. I work heaps so txt is best

pm $$ u want.....they have subi mtr atmo
and I have the tinware for your conversion
also have 2sp heads and tinware
swap for tp heads
thanks fellas,
If I was to sell, I would want enough to be able to buy a good solid replacement, thus the swap idea. I'm hoping for something complete so I'll hang
out for something to come out of the shadows.
Theres gottta be a good donk out there waiting for me to bolt into my bus.....
What does yr mate wanna pay Bernie?

Thanks Fellas,
That's worth considering Bernie
So he will pay $1700 for my 2ltr EFI motor, harness and Tank? Complete.
I wont need any tinware as the motor that was in my micro was an upright. thanks tho
I will check
seeing him tonight
trubb is Josh the whole clan is deaf and speaking impaired ....they don't always listen much.00psie...well its slow work!
I will check 4 U...what year and eng nr pls Josh
seriously after a splitty m8!! any leads
why not convert to the engine to upright?
the motor will fit as it is but its patching the EFI wiring that has me concerned. The 72 has the larger engine bay but this unit came with the
upright motor (which is shagged) and I feel a lot more comfortable with the upright motors than the pancakes. I will be using the bus to do longboard
events up and down the coast with my kids, and had thought that the 2 ltr EFI motor would be a great option (bought it in a rusted 76 wreck) but now
that I look into patching it into the 72's wiring harness, I am starting to wonder whether I just stick to what I know, which is the upright type 1
motor.
Years ago I had a 72 DC with a SP 1776 and standard single carb and it was a sweet little motor that was torquie and smooth. Never really gave me much
trouble. That's what I'm after again, If its out there and someone wants this 2 ltr.....
Ive been told to rip the EFI set up off the 2ltr and just run webers but I'm not sure that will do much more than just chew more juice.
hhmmmmmmmm..... more thinkin to do
they basically are the same design. I've got the t4 in the bug so its easy to do to convert it to upright. as for webber id go dells better progression circuit.
Nope,
Gonna sell/swap the 2ltr and get an upright motor!!
Someone offer me good $$ or a good donk for this 2 ltr please!!!
It will come with the EFI tank, harness and bits to put in yr own bus!
Located near Byron.
Cheers ppl
How good is the engine? I have a 1916 here......and I also have an air cooled T3 that needs a new engine or a subi motor.
engine is good! good comp
what cond is the 1916 in?
complete?
1916 is amazing, despite having a lot of km's on it.
I might give it a miss man, for the money of a 2liter rebuild I cant take your word for it...and Vice versa really.
I know the 1776 you speak of.
does this car look familiar?? I should have taken the motor with it....the 1600 lasted a few weeks before it got a full rebuild because of ridiculous
end float
hey if you are interested in seperating im after a 2LT fuel injection complete system to convert mine . would you sell it for $450
End float? wasnt bad when I installed it. Guess its always a bit of a gamble.
No thanks rusty, looks like its going to another bus complete
cheers
