WTB Carburator 1600cc Single Port
Blue65 - March 31st, 2016 at 11:31 PM

Hi, I'm after a good condition carbie for a 1600cc single port.

I'm running a VW Beetle with a 1641cc engine.

Anyone got a spare to sell?

So basically you are after a 30 or 31 PICT as the single port used closer stud mounting studs, this will need rejetting to suit the bigger engine.

To be honest, I'm not sure what you mean by rejetting.

My current VW mechanic told me my carbie is on its last legs and advised me to go get another one.

The carbs mentioned suit the 1300-1500 beetles, as your engine is larger capacity ity the carb used will need to be better to provide sufficient fuel/air mixture to prevent engine damage through ean mixtures.

The one that is currently fitted to my Beetle is an original VW Solex carbie 34 Pict-3.

I'm not sure why it needs to replaced but my vw mech says its worn. He had a go at cleaning and repairing it sometime ago. It runs ok. But the fuel consumption is terrible. I think I get less than 10km per mile.
