This engine has been deliberately built for a turbo application hence the low compression ratio!

It is filled with Mobil 1 oil and has only been started a handful of times since built ...hear running in car.

This engine was built by Hellbug and the owner. It will easily handle 15psi + boost. Beetle owners could use their existing tinwear etc for one hell of a quick bug! BYO turbo and intercooler :-)

I may have been a bit unrealistic with the original price given the lack of replies but this has cost me an absolute packet to complete and every single part has been meticulously checked and replaced if not 100%! It owes me well over $4K and has not ever been driven! Most people know that it's not cheap to turbocharge any car, but you will get excellent results and reliability from this motor as it has been purpose built for a turbo or supercharger. Built under the expert guidance of Shimo (the turbo kid) formerly of Helllbug. I'd be happy to answer any enquiries.

With all the turbo stuff that's been 4 sale recently this forum is a one stop shop for a performance VW. Maybe some people underestimate how well a properly built intercooled turbo VW will perform? I will consider offers under 3 grand now and if interested you really should see and hear it running in my notchy. Any test welcome! C'mon guys I can't believe everyone is broke...If anyone has any comments or suggestions please post a reply or email / u2u me.
Also, the only reason I'm thinking of selling is that I can't afford to keep it and I plan to go o/s early next year. Also, my project won't be finished anytime soon and in my humble opinion this engine would do better where it can be enjoyed and appreciated by someone now!

Hey Pat,

At this stage I'm set on keeping the rest of the car so I guess it'll have to go into storage.

Cheers!

Hi guys,
Well I've come to my senses and decided that I really must keep this engine. I've put too much into it to let it go and I have decided to store it when I am overseas. Took it for a drive on my milk crate today and it inspired me to finish my project even if it takes another 5 years.
I've read that the rockers should be removed in order to keep all cylinders sealed and to avoid fatigue on the valve springs. Any other tips that anyone would like to add? I read that it should be filled to the top with oil etc.
Sorry to the interested parties and I hope you find a great motor for your car / project / trike etc...
Regards,
JT
