bond - November 30th, 2004 at 06:09 PM

some?! ok.... could possibly be modified/shaven to fit under?

helbus - November 30th, 2004 at 06:21 PM

They look like the ones made by Sam? the spat man. He made the ones for the Helbus. I got his number from Rhett aka phat bug.

The man is a magician, he made up a pair for the bus without having ever made them for a kombi before. I had the pleasure of watching him make them.

bond - November 30th, 2004 at 06:25 PM

have you got contact details for such a craftsman?! would appreciate it, also have you pics of hellbus with the skirts or spats? thanks! and another thing, does anyone here know if the rear guard of a beetle changed that dramatically on a standard type between 71 and 73?

He had a small factory about 4 car garage size in Campbellfield and it just so happens I am now working less than 5 minutes from where He was/ is. I don't know if he is still there, but he doesn't actually work there all the time, it is just like his garage away from home.

He did make up a second kombi set and a template so they can be made anytime.

Now I have to apologise to Christian as I have realised now that I have actually hijacked the thread, but hopefully the discussion will enable his for sale item to stay at the top of the list.

:)

well was thinking, maybe if a few people want skirts, but want them to be under or flush with the fender? (if there are others like me out there) that we could get these skirts for sale now and maybe get the guy who did yours for the kombi hellbus to modify it a little and template it.... ? just an idea....
