Reconditioned big nut reduction box gearbox for a split Kombi, based on a '74 1300 Beetle gear box, it is fitted with a 3.88 ring and pinion from an
"L" bug, stock 1st 2nd and 3rd gears, but fitted with a tall .82 Kombi 4th gear, to give about 3,200 rpm in top gear at 60 mph.
It was recoed by Shimo, and I did the reduction boxes, including all new bearings. has done 1,100 miles.
Ideal for someone wanting to keep their bus stock but keep up with the traffic.
Price is $900.00
Located in Nowra, still in my bus so it can be test driven.

Dave , Yes I would like to keep up with the traffic more easily so i am interested why are you selling it? did it live up to your expectations? Is it
very different to standard? what is the drivability like? and does it suit a 1500?
Mitchell
I stock 1500 will struggle a bit up hills, idealy a 1600 twin port engine at least would make it nice to drive, I have a 2007cc with twin carbs behind it now, it drives very well.
Dave
That would really suit a 66 panel that I could get on the road real quick and drop a 1776 with twin webers to work out of and drive geelong melb every
now and then
But I dont need it for at least a year and cant afford it now
If you still have it then I could be your man
not trying to upset anyone but couldnt you get a IRS fitted for that price and if you are wanting to keep it stock why would you then have to have a
1600tp to drive it.
Isnt that defeating the objective of keeping it stock???.
Straight axle would be cheaper and give you a higher final drive without the reduction boxes.
Cheers
Dave
