NEW 7" Chromed Wire Mesh Headlight Protectors as fitted to my Squareback. Takes a little time to fit them as you have to take the headlights out, but if a dill like me can do it, anyone can !!

kombidog - Unfortunately I can't confess to being a VW guru and not sure if they will fit a kombi. However if the lens is flat and 7" you should be able to get them to fit.

Oh while I'm at it...

I couldn't get these to fit onto the headlights I have with the little brackets that came with them. I'll have to come up with something else. They do seem to fit on the spare light fitting I have which is a different style.

I am talking about a Bay headlight ('74 if it matters).
