Where can I buy a hood lining from?
foxy_fuchsia - September 15th, 2005 at 11:12 PM

Does anyone know who else sells them other than Mick Motors? They don't have any left. I will be needing one in a few weeks :)

Assuming you mean the hood seal??
Have you conseidered taking off the C channel and running a leter mexican style seal (clips onto hood)
Apparently they seal better and they look a lot better.
I recently removed my C channel and it was a rust trap under there, I suggest everyone gets rid of it.
Cheers

P.S I think vintage Vee dub sells the hood and engine lid mexican style seals for $50 the pair.

Yes I need a brand spanking new hoodlining! I don't even know what a C channel is?! :jesus

The interior has been completely stripped so that's what I need :tu: I will check out classic veedub, they may be able to send it up and I've had a squiz on ebay. If anyone has any other ideas post them on here. Thanks.

haha sorry..thought you were using the yank term for bonnet.
The C channel is the bit that holds body/bonnet seal to the body.
Cheers

I have heard (and I don't know if it is true!) that the hoodliners that are already made are a bit of a pain in the rear end to fit. The trimmer that I will be getting to do my oval prefers to make his own. Have you thought about getting one custom made ?

foxy_fuchsia - September 19th, 2005 at 03:28 PM

How much do you think that'd cost mscabrio?
