hmmmm could this be fitted to a notch without too much trouble?

kombi_kid - October 11th, 2005 at 12:51 PM

to fit into a type 3 u would need to modify tinware, not sure about the carbies fitting in
i just remembered the little rubber thing between the case and dipstick needs to be replaced but i have the replacement just needs to be fitted!!
also comes with a K&N filter cleaning kit for the kadrons!

Hi Rhys,
Im interested in your engine. Why are you selling?

This motor cost over $4500-oo to build ...the guy that owned it lost the papers ...but Stan does remember it as it is a Coffs kombi (now Stans stomping ground ) ..pretty sure its a 2 litre but has 1.8l case number ...got to be worth the $1300 hes chasing

twoguns - November 23rd, 2005 at 09:36 PM

hwt would the HP and torque be like on this motor?

and is it able to be bolted to a beetle box?

barls - November 24th, 2005 at 05:24 AM

this is similar to whats been sitting in the engine stand for months at the old mans work shop for my bug wes

bus914 - November 24th, 2005 at 11:48 AM

yes wes the 2L and 1800 can be bolted to the bug box but needs to be changed to the 1800 flywheel and converting it to the upright cooling as well. dont worry my old mans now has an idea about this conversion. as for the horse power i dont know but im sure stan would. i know mine was a stock version and it would cruise at 110km all day with half throttle

twoguns - November 24th, 2005 at 05:13 PM

i am thinking beach buggy. so was hoping maybe it could be bolted up as is? obviously not he case, hey?

barls - November 24th, 2005 at 05:25 PM

maybe wes but you would still need to up grade the brakes to get it engineered

twoguns - November 24th, 2005 at 05:28 PM

what, from discs to discs???:P

so you think this is a bolt up?

barls - November 24th, 2005 at 05:39 PM

it will bolt up but its more the question of will the stock cooling system work in a buggy or will you have to convert to an upright system.
so you already have all 4 discs then wes

twoguns - November 24th, 2005 at 05:59 PM

pretty sure you dont need rear discs, mate. just front.
hmmm. teh question is then does the fact that it is in a buggy sitting out in the open benefit the cooling of the engine?

hey kombi kid - do you have a pic of hte motor you can post?

barls - November 24th, 2005 at 06:05 PM

i can tell you now that you need to upgrade from stock brakes to have a 2L in a bug and a buggy weighs less have a chat to the old man about it and see what he says

kombi_kid - November 24th, 2005 at 08:39 PM

hey wes
HP out im not sure as i dont have the specs of the engine but i know it pushed the kombi along perfectly so in a buggy it would be good i think!
i will get a pic for ya tomorrow
cheers
