Subaru EJ25 motor and gearbox
AWD_1993 - November 22nd, 2005 at 06:22 PM

In the next few weeks, I'll be taking the EJ25 out of the Liberty, for a new heart transplant. It's done 90,000klms ...

Motor, box, ECU, wiring loom, matching differential, possibly all the brakes and control arms as well. Pretty much the whole drive train.

All items are out of a 1999 Suabru Liberty RX.

Please email me if you're interested. My email is: david@helix-it.com.au, or call me on 0421 134 916

I'm located in Melbourne.

Thanks,
David

Hi David, thanks for joining AVD - all the best for the sale of the engine. You've included the majority of the information required however it is encouraged to include price so people have an idea what to expect - I understand you've included your email/ph number which is great, but perhaps you could give us a price range if not sure of exact figure.

Cheers

Offers around $1000.00

some one go and get it !

AWD_1993 - November 23rd, 2005 at 06:39 AM

Prices are:
EJ25 with wiring loom - $1000
Gearbox - $1000

Matching differential maybe available as well and so to the drive shafts. I will have to confirm what is being replaced.

Motor and box are still in the vehicle, and will be there until Christmas holidays, which is when the conversion is taking place.

David

Anyone?

BUMP ...

ruckus - November 25th, 2005 at 06:04 AM

David is it single or twin cam?

AWD_1993 - November 25th, 2005 at 10:32 AM

It is the newer single cam motor, which isn't prone to headgasket failure! :)

C'mon Ruckus do it. At least go and have a look at the motor.

hey mate,
im very interested in doing an engine conversion soon. i have a 2L 76' bay, and have been having doubt about an alloy v8 conversion due to licencing and insurance reasons.

I have heard very bad (hard) things about the wiring looms on the subaru engines, because the engine is attatched to the wiring loom, will this cut that problem out or is the loom "messy" and needs to be worked on to fit it to a kombi?

otherwise im very interested mate, i live in perth by the way

cheers,
kevo

This is an Australian delivery , so diagrams are out there .
NOT LIKE MINE ! ARRRRRRRRRRRR

AWD_1993 - November 25th, 2005 at 06:00 PM

kevo,

Honestly, I don't know, but I imagine the loom is all detachable. People have been able to put all different Subaru motors into different model Subaru conversions (including loom), and it has all been do-able ... just need to know what you're doing.

I'm about to go thru a TT conversion, so I'm about to suffer a similar fate with the wiring loom.

gull,

Yep, it is an Australian delivery.

BUMP! Price is negotiable ... need to move it ..

Brad - November 29th, 2005 at 09:48 PM

Wiring loom is easy enough. I can provide you a modified loom for $330 exchange to your door which will plug straight into your EJ and then connect power and a few wires from your Kombi loom.
