WTD:Gene Berg transmission mount
66deluxe - December 14th, 2005 at 09:17 AM

G'day people, I am looking for a Gene Berg Intermediate gear box mount the one that has brackets that are welded to the frame horns and attaches to the gearbox itself to stop the breakage of the nose cone, i would prefer the rubber mount type, does anyone know if these are available from dub shops here or would i have to order form the bergs themselves. It is for a IRS transmission. Need it for the type 4 engine I am building. Cheers Damien.

That's what I thought, it doesn't look that high tech. Do you have any dimensions or know what thicknesses everything is??

Hi

When I made mine i used bay window Kombi mounts, the berg ones use, the ones on top of the bell housing. I made mine using 40 mm square tube, didint bother making it like Berg with the round welded to the U channels. I made a cardboard template and had a 1/4 steel plate profile cut for the bit that bolts to the transmission.
