any cracks in the 40 x 37s
From memory the 40/37s may have small cracks between the seats, no cracks around plugs though. ill check today.
the used 40/37 heads are 043 castings and do have very fine cracks between the seats.
used heads sold, still have the new 44/37 heads

No they are not 043's that was the used set i had. The new big valved heads have a casting number 04* where the third number has been ground off.
They have long reach 14mm plugs, and are cast with more meat behind the chambers (looking though the fins). but they do not have the filled intake
like a cb 044. Thats all i can say!
They are a nice set of heads, would go nice on a hot street motor etc, the port work is very nice and will probably work quite well for drivability,
but for max power i went with a set of wedgeports for my motor which will really be drags only, as the ports are much bigger.
