WTB Big valve heads!
A 1200 is slow - February 15th, 2006 at 10:01 PM

Hi,
I'm looking for a set of big valve heads...Has anybody got a set they want to sell?? To suit 94's would be nice , but that's not important.

Thanks

Craig Torrens - February 15th, 2006 at 10:04 PM

Try ROD PENROSE.......he has big valve CB performance heads for sale.

Look in the parts for sale section.

Bugger!!!

Anyone else got a nice set of heads they are willing to part with???

shiftyvw - February 17th, 2006 at 06:04 PM

Id give rod a phone call, he has lots of new and used performance heads.

A 1200 is slow - February 17th, 2006 at 07:37 PM

Yes, I spoke to Rod today, and he has got a lot stuff. I just want to see what else is on offer.
I'm still trying to decide whether to go for a set of 2nd hand "ready to bolt on" heads , or some new ones which will require porting etc.....Being the lazy person I am, I'm leaning towards some used ones with the porting already done.

Alex Holzl - February 17th, 2006 at 08:23 PM

give us a call at V-force dads been porting and modifying heads for over 25 year or even more!

his name is Richard.

Considered the New CNC ported heads? they're good value for money.

How much do you want to spend???Options are many depending on new/used and the amount you pay.
I have a couple of mates in the states and I will be there in the next few months so let me know what you are after.

I'm expecting to spend between $700 - $1000 for a used set....maybe a bit more even , but I want something decent like some superflows or similar...

lugnuts - February 20th, 2006 at 05:05 AM

Considering Superflo's are like $1k US new....... you "could" be lucky

Just to ask the question - WHY are you after big valve heads??

What is the rest of the motor that needs it.

I would strongly suggest talking to a motor builder you trust (be it Holzl or some one else - but Richard will tell you more than you need to know) before you go spending your money

HP is in heads - so dont under OR over spend

You would be surprised what a set of worked 040's will produce

Craig Torrens - February 20th, 2006 at 09:17 PM

and spend more than you have :smirk:

boof2332 - February 21st, 2006 at 06:58 AM

Engine capacity/ intended use/ comp ratios etc will all have a big influence on your choice. You are not being unrealistic, and depending on your requirements and driving style, you should be able to get a great set of heads for that money.

U2U me if you want me to ask around .
