Hi malcolm!!!
How is your project going mate? Thought you went into hiding or something......... hehe..
John
Got caught up with my other hobby .Just built a new power supply for my DAC now it will give the AudioNote Dac 5 a run for its money also built my pre
using the 6H30pi valves into 600ohm output transformers next up a pair of mono blocks either single ended 300b or pushpull 300b,s .Both DAC & PRE have
dual mono power supplys using the AWA 5v4 rectifer valves .Pat at WAR AUDIO is designing a pair of new speakers 93 db using the R1 & PHL hows your
system going.Might try build a valve amp for the oval music & a heater ,211 or 845.
Malcolm.
FxxK!!!!! You have been a busy boy mate by the sound of it...... When can i come and listen to it man? mm.....Not too sure about wacking a DAC 5
sig.... but i am impressed with the mono block power supplies. Mate, do not go for push pull 300B, Trust me!!!
Is the speaker horn loaded design? Sounds promising. Any website or pic mate?
My system is still the same, bought a Tact digital amp to play though, not too bad but valve is the way i reckon.
When you say oval, do you mean buildiing one for your oval beetle??!! running on 6 volts? What valve will you use? must be a very efficient speaker
which is hard to get nowadays. Mm.......211 Mm.......845 Big mothers......where to put it though?
Keep in touch mate!
cheers!
John
John the speakers are base reflex PHL,s 6.5" rated @ 97DB .I,ve heard a few different pushpull power amps Lucas designed 2A3 4 separate power supplys
and a pushpull 845 a killer of a amp each mono block 50kg .
Hows the brakes on the bug going I thought you would post some pics not every ones got 911 drakes all round.
thanks Malcolm.
I have heard a lot of good things about the PHLs but never have any chance to hear it. mm..... 845sssss. Keep me updated with it man.
The bug? As usual never ending story mate. Brakes are on the new floorpan now, but the car is getting repainted now and i am trying to sort out the
