subaru adapter
rocknrob - June 19th, 2006 at 03:08 PM

I have for sale a subaru adapter for veedubs. the kit consists of seriously heavy duty looking alloy plate that only weighs 3kg and an appropriate flywheel which has the 8 bolt suby centre and vw starter ring. This flywheel is the 228mm job and has a sealed pilot bearing and i have test fitted it into my 2litre kombi box. It comes with the necessary bolts for the adapter plate and flywheel. I will try and post pics but am not good at this.I can email plenty of pics tho.
I bought this to do a subaru conversion to my kombi but have bought a holden v6 and going that way instead(see my ecotech post in conversions).

I'm asking $550 for this as this will help me get my holden adapter kit. The unit is at Labrador 4215 on the Gold Coast.
I would have to say this is a very professional looking bit of gear and hope I can get something as good for my holden conversion.
thanks for looking
Rob

Is it a sherman unit? unicap? etc

don't know the make...it is cast and machined aluminium

Neither Sherman or Unicap are aluminium.... Both use a steel adapter plate....

yes the adapter plate is 25mm thick but machined down in places to suit the interfacing with flywheel etc. it is out of a complete vehicle i bought for parts which is why i know nothing about it. don't need it now for my kombi but i do have a sweet red beetle sitting in the backyard which would appreciate a japanese injection...:P

Flat six..... You mean the H6 engines?.... of which there are 3 basic versions... the 2.7 is not the same as the 3.3 or the current generation H6 3.0... and there is no way your ever gonna get a 3.0 or the 3.3 in the back of a bug.... Just to damn long at the crank!.... But if the thickness of the adapter is not to extreme, you might be able to make any of the EJ engines fit.... It is tight though, even with a 10mm adapter.... A TII or TIII on the other hand......

the h6 is long gone and yes you are probably right about the beetle...just measured the adapter plate and it is 27mm thick...suit a kombi much better...so maybe put my 1800 kombi engine in the beetle?...one thing at a time tho...too many projects:crazy:
