Finding someone with type 3 rubbers on hand

You would have to be very Lucky

Although I think I have seen them mentioned on Here before, so You never know Your luck

Wolfsburg Automotive in Victoria does have them
but You probably know that already

they are easy to get new, and I think calcool and kai.a both have a few extras lying around.

my boot/bonnet seals were $45 aussie each from george (vintage) and are WCM. I got door seals from THE DDB in oregon. window rubber is not expensive but sometimes fits like shit. depending on where it comes from.

Thanks Ren - was just hoping to pick up some cheap from someone - there is always someone with stuff in their shed that they no longer need.

good try, NOS stuff is getting fairly rare these days and you would need to have a full wallet if you want them.

isp west in Carson California has everything you need and they fit too(always a bonus for a type 3).

Your best bet is to buy from a VW specialist... In melbourne Volkspower in Burwood is your best bet for American made west coast metric.. in my opinion the best going around. Wolfsburg in Hoppers Crossing do EMPI USA made rubbers, I've never tried them but I think they're pretty good. Steer clear of anything coming out of Brazil, they're made from cheap compounds and don't fit properly, defeating the whole purpose of replacing them. While getting stuff from the US is cheaper, postage is a killer so it evens out, and take 6 weeks to get to ya. Good luck.

Hey David,

If after you see what you have... and if PaulR gets some... could you see if you have a front hood seal and a rear decklid seal for a fasty? (both are same size)

Thanx!
