As the subject says after a carby for my daughters 72 super. Went to put a kit through on the weekend and found the volume adjustment screw broken off and unable to get it out. So I was hoping someone might have a spare one lying around that they might want to sell. (in reasonable condition)

there are not too many spares as they all strip/seize that screw

very tricky repair as the thread is really fine and the placement is tricky. I dont imagine a jig to do it would be too hard and you would need a pretty high end drill/mill and it would cost more than the new one for tooling and labour.

New one has no wear and is apparently better quality than those mexi or brasil ones.

I would go the new one.

Actually I would go a set of Kadrons but my little devil is talking loud at the moment!

don't know about kadrons on my teenage daughters car. maybe for myself when i get my own!!

i dunno if the old repair kits are still availble any more
the old screw and thread was drilled out and the new one was just glued in in its place

i sent allan this pic
its a bodgy method to fix a snapped off mixture screw head on one of my old engines
someone ground away the carb body around the screw then soldered a piece of flat steel on to the screw LOL
funny thing is it worked fine and still does
