SOLD*** Type 4 2lt engine for sale***SOLD
Stanley - October 8th, 2006 at 06:01 PM

We are currently fitting an ej22 to my sons kombi and have a 2lt carby engine for sale.
It was running fine prior to removal and was even at the Warwick weekend.
It is complete as removed with everything there ready to bolt in and go. I have know idea of the mileage of the engine or it's internal condition but we have owned it for approx 2 years and have had no problems with it. There is also a spare set of carbs and engine sealing foam.

The engine number stars with CJ which I believe makes it a 2lt.

Let me know if you need more pics or info.
He is asking $600 ono

Call Ben on 0423677931, u2u me. or email me stanley111@optusnet.com.au

i would be interested in it, unfortunately just have to try and get permission from my accountant, is there any negotiation on the price though? would be able to make a better argument to the missus if she thinks i am saving money or something. i could pick it up im on the north side.

So do it...hehehehe...never ceases to amaze me.

In the meantime if anyone is genuinely interested, send me a u2u. You can do any tests you want on it. I'm not out to rip anyone off and I am negotiable. As I said it was going when we took it out after getting back from Warwick other than that I don't know what else to add.

Firstly, don't let your accountant run your life. Secondly, tell your missus that these motors usually sell for $1000 and that if you can get one for $600 it's a BARGAIN. There you go you have just saved your missus $400 !!

^ What he said!

Thanks Craig

xornge666x - October 13th, 2006 at 10:42 PM

these sell from a wreckers for at least $1000, and used to sell as quick as we got them... so you can tell your "accountant" you are saving $400 on this one. A type 4 for $200 I would be a little reluctant on bolting that in and thinkin everythng will be fine!! Maybe if you buy 3 of them though you might get a good one...
Always better to buy something recently run, and this one is cheap for a complete running engine w/ spare carbs...

Stanly $600 is a fair price tell the tight BBB to just go and buy an alternator and two pair of carbies.I have given up trying to sell things it is easier throwing it away.

forgot about this untill I smacked my toe on it to day

kombidaze - October 30th, 2006 at 07:18 PM

$600 for a good going 2 litre motor is a bargain, (just check the valve clearances before parting with money) i bought a not so good 2 litre motor for $300 pulled it down had a badly busted piston and scored cyclinder wall and mismatched heads, but i did not expect otherwise, the bottom end is ok and i can make up a passable motor with other bits i have lying around. my brother scored a 2 litre motor for $550 had to change the clutch and flywheel and rebuild the carbies it now resides in his bay kamper, so your price is well in the ballpark.

Thanks to the buyer. Wish all deals were that smooth.
