WTD Mid 60's wiper switch
11CAB - December 17th, 2006 at 07:11 PM

I've managed to find a working wiper motor, now I need the switch to go with it. It needs to have 4 wires on it....

2 terminals with 54
1 terminal with 31b
1 terminal with 54d

Thanks
Graham

Being mid 60s is 6 volt. Is your wiper motor 6 or 12 volt? 6 volt motors had 3 wires and vairiable speed through a variable resistor. 12 volt was 2 speed.

I just pulled it out of a Mid 60's bug....I'm guessing around 64...yes the wiper motor has 3 wires from the switch, but the switch has four wires.....two of them are 54

I got a spare one from a 67 I pulled apart. Its one I have in my cupboard… got he boot on it too… (cept the pump boot thing will need replacing, has a nasty crack)

It has 4 prongs, they read 54d, 2 with 54, 31b and vdo and vw written on it….

Seems to be single speed (off and on) and pulls out for pump action… ;) )
