*Wanted* SHO Semaphore 111 953 021 A
HotVolkswagenz - February 17th, 2007 at 06:30 AM

I need one single good used SHO semaphore with part # 111 953 021 A to complete my set.I need something that is in good working condition with a good yellow lense and black arm.The light does not have to work, as long as it functions properly, i am happy if its what i need.I have a good working SHO 111 953 021 E semaphore if someone is interested in a trade.Any help is appreciated.

Thank You

Also interested if it has no lense.I have a spare lense i can throw on.As long as it works and the black arm is in fair condition, i am interested.

Right now i dont have much for sale on Samba.I just have a bunch of *Wanted* ads looking for parts to complete my oval that was supposed to be done last year.I have to have it done this June or im shooting myself.Only thing listed is a NOS 56-59 Bug Petri Horn Ring if you are interested.Let me know what you are looking for.I have a lot of spares laying around.
Thanks Nathan

but manny those NOS petri horn rings are a dime a dozen :)

i got my semaphores tested today none of the 021 A's work, two or three have coils that work but the mechs have too much friction for them to open (i think it is rust on the pistons catching on the solenoid barrels, not just general goo)

all in all a crappy day as only 3 worked well out of all the ones i have found in 12 years of parts hunting... not happy.

with a little time(which i know you dont have)you can get them puppies working. But thanks anyways for trying. And the search continues.
I wish i was restoring a car so i can use the NOS Petri, but i am building and all origina oval shit bug. I have a good used Petri that i will scuff out to bare aluminum, so i wont be empy handed.

Thanks

if you can suggest a way to get them working without pulling them apart i'd love to know.

henry.

Henry
I had one once that sounds to me, was in the same condition.I soaked it in WD-40 and then manually started moving the piston up and down.At first you will hear is scratching due to the rust, but once you have it moving nicely, just get a air hose and blow air through the piston shaft so it can blow any little chips etc from inside. After that i just sprayed it with brake parts cleaner and air it out once more.If you want to work it twice it cant hurt.I let it sit about a day or two after, just in case but it worked fine after that.I just wish it was an 021A, i would have saved it.Any news on the Volmac??
