Joel

Brad - March 13th, 2007 at 05:27 PM

Pretty sure I have one, have you got a picture of the base ?

Anthiron - March 13th, 2007 at 09:37 PM

ill take a pic tomorrow brad.

joel, i have a manafold without the heat risers but i really want one that has them not only for heating but to brace the whole thing as its a heavy carby and it will rock back and forth.

HRD 68B - March 15th, 2007 at 08:27 AM

what are you going to use it for ? just going to run an old bugspray or some turbo mayhem ?
cheers brenton

Anthiron - March 15th, 2007 at 08:41 AM

just going to run the bugspray, turbos arent really my thing, just wanna check out what a period carby can do for my 1600

kroozzn63 - March 15th, 2007 at 10:11 AM

ive got a weber with this kinda setup that ill sell
scat manifold and dual throat weber carb

Anthiron - March 15th, 2007 at 11:14 AM

wanna sell just the manifold?

kroozzn63 - March 15th, 2007 at 12:31 PM

buy 1 get one free make an offer

Joel - March 15th, 2007 at 04:06 PM

i used to have heaps of those mongrel carbs and manifolds lying around specially single port ones
no one wanted them so they all became landfill
theyre a pig of a carb speciallly if ur running a 009 they have 2 throttle settings rough idle and flat bicky
the only advantage is they can run a vac advance dizzy but stil webers crap all over them

its not hard to brace the manifold if the heat risers are gone
ive done it a few times either weld a brace on like this one
http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p174/Buggin_74/manifold1.jpg

or just bend one up like this and bolt it down
http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p174/Buggin_74/manifold2.jpg

unless ur running a standard pea shooter exhaust which being a baja u wont be the heat risers are useless anyway
compare a standard exhaust box next to any aftermarket system and u'll see why they do nothing

brad?? rocknrob?? kroozn??

Quoll - March 23rd, 2007 at 04:23 PM

Hey Anthiron
I run a bugspray with no heat risers just make a bracket that goes from the fuel pump bolt to the carb to manifold bolt.
If that does not wont work make a braket the the goes to the carb to manifold bold that goes into the top right Genrator fan bolt :D
Hope this helps. Despite what people say they are a good carby which give good all round power and decent fuel economy. As long as you use a non plenum manifold and take the time to tune it. In fact they make more then a single DCN webber but dont let those webber heads know that :P

My 1641 with stock valves, really light P&P heads, 009, extractors and a bugspray makes 50rwhp.
