Rexy,
Could help your cause if you could identify what type they are. Early ones have two temp senders on the bellhousing, a drain and a fill plug and a switch on the drivers side to swap the temp sender signals. Late ones only have a single temp sender and a fill plug.

Also the G/Box code is on the drivers side of the gear carrier housing stamped underneath a rib facing down towards the ground. That'll help as well.

i dont think it will go into a type 3, its for a beetle.

it should fit into a type 3 OK

but a type 3 fully auto won't fit into a beetle without major modifications...
although it has been done...

so the auto stick may just bolt straight into the type 3...
