these were a 67 accessory i don't know if this is correct or not but there it is
it slides onto the gearstick than locks the wheel

I think they were for 3 on the tree!

no they fitb the standard bug well when you slide it over the gearstick you must pull it up to the wheel that locks the stick into the bottom and a pad lock goes around the steering wheel locking both

I understand, clever!

ya took me an hour to find out what it was and how it worked
