FS - Suspension upgrade L-Bug or Type 3
GTMac - May 14th, 2007 at 12:25 PM

Have set of 23mm torsion bars which are originally from the wagon to suit any Type 3 or L-Bug plus set of KYB GR-2 rear shocks. Shocks have only been on my Fasty for 3000km and are in perfect cond.

Needed upgrading on my car due to extra weight of Suby engine.

Asking $200

Location: Rockdale NSW

Bump: These bigger/stiffer torsion bars will fit any IRS Beetle and are a terrific 'street' upgrade with those KYBs...

Bump.

KYB shocks alone are worth $98 + GST each, so effectively getting torsion bars for free!

Not really wanting to split as its a great package together. Have not thought about individual pricing. Will have to wait and see.

hi

are they going to just firm up the ride or raise it slightly?

jb

Theoretically it would mainly firm it up

BUT

You are changing the torsion bars over so you re-set the the suspension anyway. So measure the angle of dangle before you take it out and put it back th that angle and the car will look the same but handle unbelievabley better

so it wont feel like a 38 year old vw anymore?

more like a late 70's gemini maybe. :-)

Nooo... with those bars, dampers and some poly bushes, it will feel like a Porsche 911. Seriously

Mick, I have done rough guide with Aus Post and i think somewhere between $13 and $20.

I think about 6-7kg and package would be 72x12x15 approx.

Let me know how you go.

Andrew

Nick, no pics, nothing exciting to see. 2 metal bars being the torsion bars, they are not pitted. 2 silver KYB GR-2 shocks with no marks being only fairly new.
