Do you want to sell yr Rossi's?
Nick, might give ya a call later in week, whats the diff between early 60's and ovals lights? i thought all same-ish? as for selling rossi's, not sure yet, they are in ex cond, and will need to stay on bug till new lights fitted... which with my line up of projects and things to do could be a while away yet!
lenses are different and I can supply u some for Nicks lights
am down soon and we can meet up. cheers
Well just let me know when or if you decide to sell them.. I've been looking for a genuine set for a while.. Tks

Nick, cheers for the offer mate, hold on to your lights, I had a scrounge thru my split bus parts boxe's for its orig headlights after finding out that they would fit so I gave them a tidy up and threw them on the oval after getting some new seals etc, the lense's aren't quite correct from what I understand but still look the part, thanks for your help guys.
hey will fit but the lenses have to be beetle and adjustment screws guys ho ho ..check
hee hee, yeah i hear ya on that one bushed, the purist police will get me aye! can't win, rossi's were wrong, headlights without the 5 & 7
adjusting screws are wrong (last set of those I saw for sale were $450 in need of tidy up...) and don't get me started on my modern jap seats and
retractable seatbelts for extra safety for my family, they're wrong too!
I've seen plenty of bugs in mag's with "incorrect" lenses and surrounds, the owners still enjoy the cars though aye!
My ovals built for fun with repro stuff all over it, taiwan empi accessories that rust while you watch, but i'm happy, its built on a budget we could
afford as we have other desirable old cars (to be full rego'd daily driven like the oval) as well which eat up money at an alarming rate! and its
still an oval at end of the day... might take ya up on those lenses one day maybe though, definately still keen for the horn contact thingy, might
still make one though... cheers!!
There is one problem using bus lights in a bug. The bus lights sit sideways and the lights are designed to dip to the left hand side of the road so
you don't blind on coming traffic. Now with them in the bug you will have them either dipping up into on coming traffic or straight down on to the
road. Not something i would care about but the RTA etc do. Like when you get a left hand drive car you need to change the headlights because of the
dipping to the left thing. Then again these days show me a car with the headlights adjusted correctly anyway.
Just some FYI. I'd still go with what you have done.
lol,
just sayin the bus lenses will be at 90 degrees to what the light should shine and that is one pat hate us country drivers have is h/liteglare.
where do live as I may weaken and bring emm down prob mid Nov...that is horn cotact thingy too.
beers B
sweet b, yeah, I live in Ipswich.... looks like I'll be going to the gold coast dub clubs show and shine in coomera on the 11th nov, you gonna make it there? As the ovals not our only car I literally don't have the need to drive it at night, its driven daily, literally in the day for my needs so the lights won't get a chance p!ss off any other road users till I get some correct lenses/some off you.... just had ants in my pants to change the rossi's for a better look with no intention of night driving till I get the correct lenses, have learnt alot about headlights in the last week or so!
