Hi

If you don't have Type 3 spring plates, you will need them as well.

I have aftermarket h/d spring plates to replace the twin ones on my irs pan, i have been told the irs torsion bars are longer and with the spring plates i have i need the shorter torsion bars?It is to get rid of the extra bit sticking out so i can put bigger wheels on my baja.

You need Beetle bars from what you are saying, the type 3 swing axle torsion bar/spring plates still stick out enough to cause problems with wheel clearance. There are three different lenghts, swingaxle beetle, swingaxle type 3 and type1/3 IRS in that order. What springplates do you have.

I have the irs bug ones at the moment, i thought early type 3 would be the same length as early bug bars but it sounds like they are not unfortunately, i was hoping to stiffen the rear up.
