I ended up buying one from Classic Vee Dub but it is not the same as the one I have on front and too short for the bumper so goodness knows what it is supposed to fit. It needs to match this one like on front.

The US rubber strips used a rubber end piece at each end of the bumpers..

Wolfsburg Automotive will probably have them..
they have most VW rubbers made...

I know of a 76 beetle owner who [a few years ago] bought a rubber strip off a Kombi and made it fit
[cut the excess off??}

If you get an origional rubber then you will need the special clips that hold it on as well these are probally harder to find than the rubbers as there a diffeerent shape to most and they have to be broken to remove an old rubber from a bumper

give vintage a call in sydney 02-9789-1777 to see if they have a rubber and clips the rubber has a metal strip in it as well which bends very easy so it wont fit the bar correctly if bent so if you get one lay it flat untill needed

If you have an after market bar from CIP then you may also find that the holes wont line up to the rubber section better of getting an origional german bar and having it repaired and re chromed

lots of luck
