WTD: 2ltr Kombi Heads
type_one - April 2nd, 2008 at 10:57 AM

Hey just putting the feelers out for anyone that may have some good, and i mean good, 2ltr Kombi heads. If so let me know how much. Just weighing up options at the moment.

I have a dodgy value seat on number 3. Can this easily be fixed if the head is off?

yeah the heads are hard to weld but you can get a quote dont know how good it will be vs new heads but they have to be removed to do the job and while yr there u may as well do the other side so it all works out good in the end

half a job aint very good

Any ideas on how much new heads may be? Both sides of course.

valve guides come loose during the welding which anneals some of the aluminium. New is good, the seats are hard and are peened in too. They need to be cleaned up though as the casting is rough in parts to fit rocker covers and heater boxes.

Don't use new AMC heads straight out of the box. They need new valves and springs at the least, the hardware they come with is RUBBISH! Mine broke a valve spring at 2000km. I had ignored these same warnings, and learnt the expensive way.
