veedubsub - May 21st, 2008 at 09:01 PM

Hello everyone. i have for sale a 1916cc type 3 engine for sale built by Mike from Custom Bugs and Buses in Penrith. The engine was built about 18 months a go and has 0 road km on it. The only work its done is about 30hours of dyno tuning. Engine is fuel injected and run by a Microtech LT8s ECU, Scat lifters, Chro-moly push-rods, Engle cam, heavily ported Mahle heads, Mahle pistons, bottom end balanced, HD clutch, custom headers(tucked up high so car can sit low), SS muffler, big oil cooler,HD oil pump, new 009, elec ignition, steel braided lines to oil cooler and heaps of other all new goodies. Engine is puting out 88hp at 3800rpm and 495 ft lb of torque at 3300rpm. Its currently in a late wagon whos body is no good but its sitting on a rebuilt pan with all detailed suspension, gear box, new CV, wheel bearings, empi shifter, polyuerethane bushes, shocks etc. I have all receipts and dyno printouts. Everything is new and never driven and I have to get rid of it due to no more garage. $9000 for everything or $7500 for engine and ECU. Car is located in Melbourne. Contact Denis on 0402 208 073 for any questions.

How much torque and how many hours dyno time??????????? Surely a typo....

veedubsub - May 21st, 2008 at 09:13 PM

Yes 30 hr dyno and 495

Craig Torrens - May 21st, 2008 at 09:17 PM

wow that's a lot of dyno time.......how much did that cost !

veedubsub - May 21st, 2008 at 09:26 PM

Mike is a bit of a perfectionist and he was trying a few new things with the intake manifold.

Is that 671Nm? Grenade? Or detonator? Or fair dinkum usable?

does it fit under the std lid?

VWCOOL - May 22nd, 2008 at 01:43 PM

jeez the new 7.0-litre HSV doesn't have that much torque! Sure those figures are correct?

veedubsub - May 22nd, 2008 at 02:44 PM

To put everyone straight....yes those figures are correct. She is tuned to perfection for everyday use because that is what I requested from Mike...hence the dyno time. Everything fits under the standard lid. When Mike was tuning this engine he had a 5 lt commodore there that he was tuning and thing had less torque then my engine.

would like to see the dyno graph

heavily ported Mahle heads
where do you buy mahle heads from?:borg:, got any pictures of the throttle body setup and is that included in the 7500 price?

veedubsub - May 22nd, 2008 at 03:59 PM

The price includes everything. Engine, ECU, harnes, etc... Basically install and go. I will take a photo of the dyno printout and post it. Heads are from the states

If anyone is interested in my engine feel free to call Mike from CBB on 02 47229313 and ask him any further tech questions about this engine.

Somethings definantly wrong with the numbers, an engine at 3300rpm with 495ft lbs would be producing 311hp, and an engine producing 88hp at 3800rpm has 121ft lbs at 3800rpm. I think the torque number is wrong as i really doubt its producing that much only being an NA 1916cc, dyno graphs would be nice to see though

newoldmanx - May 22nd, 2008 at 08:29 PM

wow:!:495ftlb @ 3300 very impressive we want pics

Craig Torrens - May 22nd, 2008 at 09:36 PM

I know of a 1916cc that had 700ft Lbs at 4500rpm on the CBB dyno....and it was around 88hp at 4000rpm.................maybe its just that dyno ?

Best of luck with the sale, its a pity you didn't get to enjoy it in your car.....would have been nice to drive.

I heard of a 2332, turbo, cb performance EFI, 4 x TB,at 12 lb boost it had 800 ft/lb torque.
Just numbers ?????
