For Sale , Type 1 Engine 1500 SP
JCARRION - July 17th, 2008 at 08:49 PM

a bit trash out . Main bearing is spinning with the crank , huge end-play , ending up in a blown oil seal and leaking oil like crazy.

*however* It runs ok , sounds ok , and was able to push the beetle up to 55 mph. It doesnt smoke , no funny sounds , fires up perfectly , etc.

Definitely in need of a rebuild , althought with a new oil seal , It should drive you for a few months .

a steal for only 500 bucks.

*does not include the distributor , carburator , geneator , etc * . ITs sold as a "long block" . It will be also steam-cleaned for your convenience.

Its in Rockdale , Sydney .

Damn. I picked up the 1500 for my beach buggy for $50 and all that was missing was exhaust and flywheel. Good luck

actually , a bit of try , and a bit of joke :) he he

-you know - . I was in need *serious* need of a engine and none to be found . Ridiculous prices for trash-out units .

Now I got the one from eBay , and now , a still running engine is worth nothing .

-which is probbably the truth. ..

ok , After I am done swapping parts , first interested on it can get it for a few beers. Still in Rockdale , and still steamcleaned :)

even tho its running now it wont last long

contiuning to use it will only trash the case to point were its completley worthless if its not already and running the risk of it seizing up cos oil press wouldnt be to crash hot and slippng clutches covered in oil dont make for a real practical daily driver
