Thanks heaps - I checked with him yesterday and he hasn't stocked them for a while.
and it will probably take too long to get one out from the USA.
I am planning to use one for my trip out to Warwick in October.
cheers - Daniel

Nope. Just under two weeks. Order it online and it'll be here in a fortnight.

jedidan, when you get the quote can you post the price up so we all know how much they are. I am interested in getting one in the near future.

Thanks, Kevin

No worries Kev:tu:

jedidan - September 13th, 2008 at 11:35 AM

asked for a quote from CarBra (in Melbourne) here was their reply;

" Sorry we realised you are from Brisbane and we can't help you..."

Apparently these things are custom fit and you need to be a local....

Thanks Gavandrob - i may discuss about getting this off you as a temporary measure. What $$ r u asking and more importantly, is it still functional (not stretched, clips on easily etc) ?
thanks muchly in advance - daniel

68AutoBug - September 16th, 2008 at 01:42 AM

One of the locals had one made somewhere , He must have had His Beetle there as its made to fit from one guard across the front to the other guard
and it has mesh holes in the bonnet as He's going to fit an air conditioner... and clear PVC covers over the headlamps.. Best one i've seen...

The ones that are one piece across the front are better
IMHO ... the two piece ones are a pain to fit and take off.. but better than nothing...

I would like to get one that goes right across in one piece

but I'm not about to pay $300+ for one...

From what I've heard if your wanting to protect your nice paint job your better of not putting one on as the dust can get behind it and scratch it. they also rub the paint at the edges and seams.

Maybe take a chance on any stone chips and save the money towards a respray after you get back.

ive never had that drama and mines on frequently

its paid for itself several times including down to valla when a group of us hit a patch of kitty litter the SES put on an oil spill near coffs
i never get out on the motorway without it anymore

got it brand new off ebay
best $52 i ever spent

mines a one piece so looks abit stupid but like Lee said they're so much easier to take on and off- literally 1min
