time to get the beetle back on the streets!
after the semi-auto reg.. quite diff to the normal ones
Damien are you after a window regulator or what? If you are after a window reg call me Jono 0418 444 356 or 9899 9545
betcha its a 68 bug u own??
theres no difference between manual and semi auto
what u would be seeing different is 68 beetles used the twin lift mechanisms
good luck finding one most ppl use them for 1 piece windows and being one year only makes them hard to find
good news is that any 68-76 bug mechanism will fit
yes Damian
they are VERY Expensive in Australia
but You can use the single type which was used in all other beetles...
they were used in 65-66-67-68 models overseas...
with the large glass.. which We didn't get until 1968..
hence the one year only...
You really only need the dual type for single glass in doors..
the later types do work OK...

Hi again
Damien what is wrong with Your original winder?
if the gear is stripped..
You drill out the rivets - turn the gear over -
and re rivet it together,,
it only uses half the gear....
Lee
thanks for the tip lee - that was the plan to take it to work and pull it apart.. it looks as if this is the problem
Hi,
I think I have a twin lift regulator that you are referring to. $75 if it is still in the shed you may need the lift channel too. I will look and let
you know.
The first 6 months of 1968 Beetles in Australia had the unique twin lift window regulators, a one off breather system and petrol tank, what is known
as the 12 Volt conversion Wiper motor, tie rod ends the same as Link Pin Beeltes and one off front stub axles to suit.
A bit of an unusual beast, but one of my favourties, these models really seem to stand up to rust well too.
Cheers,
David
