i have 55panel. just wanted to no what type of gearbox would u guys run in it? to sit on nice speed on highway!

If you want to keep your reduction hubs,
then the latest model (1967) will have the lowest rpm.

If you want it rebuilt you can add a brazilian 3.875 crownwheel and pinion.

If you are doing away with the reduction hubs,
the latest madel IRS trans' had the lowest rpm, unless you are talking swingaxle.

Swingaxles from 1500 beetle and late swing type 3s are a good option.
Latest model 1300 twin port beetles(1972-1974?) are a strong box,
but have a higher rpm gear set to account for their lower power.
