Wanted - Mag Centre Caps
RED62E - January 24th, 2009 at 11:48 AM

I need 4 centre caps the same or very similar to the one pictured.
I have contacted many tyre shops in Newcastle and they don't have anything and reckon I will have trouble getting some new.
Local speed shop had some 'speedy' push in types but they didn't fit. Looks like I need the ones with screw attachment tabs like shown.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The mag wheels they came from indicated on the inside they were a 'Dominator'.

Ta Rob.

Try getting a local metal spinner to make some up for you,
thats what i did for a push in type on Empi 5's,
he made me up some in alloy that polished up nicely.

Had thought about that and if all else fails I will go searching.

Just found a company in Melbourne that restore mag wheels and make polished metal centre caps for about $195.
They sell via ebay. WheelsAustralia Pty Ltd

Cool thanks for that.
Will chase it up more next week when back at work.

PM sent to you anyway.
If you know me you will know that I don't have $195 for centre caps.
I sent the company an email asking if they wanted to put some on my car for advertising....lol (free of course)
I don't expect a reply.

Cracks me up. What an idea. It may be what hapens as NO ONE makes these anymore unless custom. Spent a day driving and ringning around and the last compnay that did them stopped last year as they took too long to move off the shelves.

Have to find really large spray can caps perhaps...lol

Hi

There was a really nice Ghia from Victoria at Nambucca years ago, he told me he used mini muffin baking tins.

I reckon that you could adapt the plastic centre wheel cap from a Mk1 Golf, it even has a VW logo on it.
