Geez that's a hard way to get a sale... Do you really want to kill a good project and watch the corpse picked over? C'mon - economic crisis???

Yeah I know it sucks. Just bought a $5000 dud caravelle which needs a new motor. Will easily cost over $300 for something decent. Plus the square is nearly out of rego and needs abit to get it up to scratch. Just gotta choose out of the 2. The caravelle owes me to much just to let it sit there.

how much for the front guards? Are the tops of the guards near the windscreen and the bottoms behind the front wheel solid? Need these donor sections for a 65 Notch 1500S.

What brand/size are the two good tyres?

Thanks

Steve

NuZo - March 25th, 2009 at 08:28 PM

will that engine fit a type 1? namly my car :D a 1969 1500cc? and does the engine run?

first dibs if its what i want :D

To answer your question Nuzo, yes it will fit your car but you will need to fit all type 1 upright tin ware. which may mean fitting a different linkage kit to your carbies as it might foul with something. I have a type 3 engine in my car, i think there are only minor differences in the case, stud length, dipstick, etc. once again i am no expert.

That car does look too good to part out though, Would make a great rat wagon. lower it and but some era bling on it! :tu:

NuZo - March 25th, 2009 at 10:26 PM

how much work/money is involved putting it into my car? can i do alot of it myself? (dont have many tools at all) or if i gave it to some one to do, how much labor is involved :S

1916baja - March 25th, 2009 at 10:45 PM

swapping the engine tinware is easy, putting it in the car is easy, but i don't know about the linkage situation. I couldn't tell you how much labour is involved, best to ask your local vw shop. You don't need all that many tools to work on a vw, a few screwdrivers, a socket set and a hammer! the hammer is for when things don't fit.... You hit em'

NuZo - March 25th, 2009 at 11:00 PM

bahahaha yeah i need to buy a socket set :S

satori would u kno how much power is comming from the engine? i sent u a pm aswell :D cheers

colonel mustard - March 26th, 2009 at 10:43 AM

If you dont have a socket set, I probably wouldn't advise you take it on.

Klaus - March 26th, 2009 at 12:21 PM

you have to get the front fan of the engine first which can be a bit of fun without a BIG socket set.
