bianca marie - March 8th, 2009 at 09:49 PM

ive just brought a vw super bug and the guy who owned her before me put in a rally wheel which completely covers her speedo
im trying to get her into pretty much original condition
(so pretty much taking out everything that her ex-owner put in) and i was wondering if anyone had the original style steering wheel up for sale

thanks

I had to do the same thing..
had a small wooden steering wheel...
best place to find one is the VW Nationals in sydney in May

but I don't know your Location...

otherwise keep an eye on E-Bay...

I opted for the later collapsible steering wheel
which is like in this photo...

Yours I believe could have smaller splines and shaft
but would look the same....

cheers

LEE

...
and for cracks on the main back part..

I have one on my car that im planning to change over in the next few weeks. you would need to get a new horn part - the plastic centre, because mine comes off sometimes because the clips are broken, im guessing that happens alot whith these. ( 113415669E - part number at http://www.classicveedub.com.au )
one of the previous owners must have worn rings (may have been a lady, not sure) because the wheel itself is quite chiped. also, they are quite a large wheel, and maybe you would be better just getting a nice wood grain wheel from supercheap/repco.

:D
