Hi there,
I'm after an ignition housing - the alloy bit which the lock tumber goes in - which fits my type of cowling, described as the 'lip' type, as you
can see on the pic. This is generally accepted as a 68 type, but I have one on my post-September 69 van. Just to confirm, I have the cowling already,
it's what i'm pointing at below. It's the alloy housing i'm after.
The underside of the cowling accepts a different type of ignition housing - I've taken pics of my one (minus ignition of course...) and one from 1970
which differs.
Also, if you think you've got it and but still unsure the bolt holes for the ignition are wider than later ones and measure up at 62mm centre to
centre.
I just need the igntion housing - the alloy part not the black cowling, I have a lock barrel, but if you've got the complete thing off a steering
column i'd be happy to take that if it's a nusiance seperating it.
Cheers ,
Simon
now thats gunna B hard
I know Vintage have wrecked a few low lights lately so give eum a call
good luck in finding one , there's 3 different types and the wiring on the back of the switch is different aswell , look at your head light switch
and see if you have a black wire with yellow tracer ( "X" location ) going to it if it does you need an ignition with the same "x" on it otherwise
headlights wont work , Just went thru all this on a mates bus ended up using a 1970 type 3 head light switch without the "x " on it and 3 x "30"
positions to power it up . If you still have your switch from the ignition and h/light switch then ignore the ramblings just wanted to share the fun i
had.
In the 68 low light sc i have i ended up putting a push button in place of the ign switch .
Hi , I got 1 here in Toowoomba , Qld , cheers Alec
