I started converting my Kombi a couple of years ago but ran out of motivation due to work giving me a vehicle and fuel card. Guess my account got
deleted from here too due to inactivity. I got most of the way through things before actually pulling the Kombi apart, so I have the following:
EJ25 bought through these forums a couple of years ago. IIRC it had done about 70k, from and 01 liberty or something. I paid 1800 for it back then,
since it was supposed to be good. It is just sitting on a trolley so unfortunately I can't demo it or anything.
I have already gone through the wiring harness and removed the extraneous wiring and labeled the remaining wires. The ECU is of course included.
Adaptor plate and flywheel from seagull, paid 600 for them back then.
Fuel pump, barbs on both ends
I welded up an exhaust for the EJ25 based on the original headers which would basically route the same way the VW exhaust does, around the back - this
is only mostly complete since my plan was to see how well it fit in the back before continuing further. There is a silencer as well you can use if
you like.
I have the full subaru manuals on CD somewhere too if I can find them.
So basically the main items left you need to fiinish this off would be some radiators, engine mounts, and I guess finishing off the exhaust.
All this gear has just been sitting in my shed so it shouldn't be any worse for wear.
My price is $1200 for the lot. I would prefer not to separate anything.
I am located in Bassendean WA.

Hey Zig !
This is a great deal here people . The motor is out of a late model 01 bug eye impreza removed for a turbo conversion by Rw here in Perth for his
wife.
Thanks seagull. This is still taking up space in the shed... price can be negotiable.
Can it be sent over east ?
I wonder how much to freight it to QLD. Would love this in my Beetle....
I can ask the despatch guy at work, what do you reckon an EJ25 weighs?
I had a few calls asking about the above
The adapter plate & fly wheel as above is for a 2ltr kombi gear box , not a 1600cc type vw trans axel . Should some one still want the above for a
1600 cc trans to fit a bug , I can do a swap with Zig at this end for a 1600 trans kit if it helps make the sale for Zig.
At the time I only had 1600 and 1800 gearboxes available so I'm not sure why I would have ended up with the 2L version. How does one tell the difference? Thanks for the offer.
I am sure the fly wheel you have there takes the larger clutch Zig . ( If I recall )
I know that this may be a bit of a sleeper, but if this is still on later in the year I will probably go for it (got to finish the bay, sell it and
get the dosh to whack it in the Square from hell). Good luck with the sale otherwise!
This is still available.
Plus now it can all go for 800! take it away!
damn bib stole my money trees or id be on this like a fly on poo...
