Complete rear straight axle kit including fully reconditioned gearbox.

I'm pulling it out of my 58 samba I bought recently and exchanging it all for an IRS setup, mainly because the rear is too low for the driving I want to do in it with the kids etc, and consequently the front has to be as low, and I want to raise it all up a bit for a less slammed ride.

Its a beetle swingaxle gearbox that was fully rebuilt about 3 months ago by W&M motors in Melbourne at a cost of $1500. It has Wagenswest offset spring plates, which means you don't have to run cut and rewelded axle tubes.

Finally its got wide 5 Type 3 rear brakes that have been rebuilt and brand new drums that have had the snout milled down to fit the beetle axles. Comes complete with gearbox, tubes, brakes, springplates. There is pic of the top of the bus below, the underneath looks as clean, so these aren't grubby parts. The height you see it in the pic below, is probably the highest you'd want it, it really needs to be lower.
