WTB Brake shoe return springs - SORTED,thanks
HappyDaze - December 30th, 2009 at 05:13 PM

Need 4 of the long springs - 'big' ones, not 'small' ones - that hold the Beetle brake shoes together. Any ideas on where to get some?

Cheers, Greg

Greg,

I have a front set of brakes here with long springs if that's what you are after. But not sure if you need front or back. I only have 1 set of rear brakes with long springs.

Hi Kevin, and thank you.

It'd be a shame to break up a set of brakes for what I need. I only need 4 springs - the long ones. They are the 'stronger' of the two that pull the brake shoes together. Perhaps I should wait for a while, and see what turns up - someone may have these springs 'laying around'.

Cheers, Greg

Greg,

I wont be using the brakes and they are here if you want them. I like to help people out if I can, you never know when they may be able to help you whether it be with parts or just advice.

I recently sent a complete set of rear drum brakes down to Pete (VWFREAK) in the ACT to get him out of trouble. And I know if I asked him for anything he would help if he could. What goes around, comes around as they say. Also helped out Costa (XXX-1.8T) with a piece of original chrome trim. No charge to either of them. Just glad to help people and make new friends.

If you want a photo to confirm parts, send me a PM with your email address.

Or get them online from Machine7 or VW Heritage. You'll get the complete brake hardware for not many pennies :) and they'll be here in under a week for such a light item ;)

Yea, bout $16-18 from Heritage including postage ;)
