FS [BNE] 56 Type 1 Parts Manual & Hazet 561 36mm spanner
volumex - February 10th, 2010 at 09:11 PM

Need to get rid of some of my vital essentials

1. Type 1 Spare Parts Manual dated July 1956.
Its in pretty average condition. All pages are there, the dividing tabs are dog-eared, there are grease marks & spots on many pages. Have a good look at the photos. If you want more piks, please ask. I can take it to Dubs by the Pie if anyone wants to see it. Price: I'll say $150 shipped. Feel free to haggle  Prefer swap for 54/55 only bits (see below).

2. Hazet 561 spanner. Its the 36mm without the 21mm end. Suits early Hazet boxes. Meant to apply up to 55 year model cars, but there might have been some overlap. Apparently there is same way you can tell exactly what year it was made by the underlining of the word Hazet on the side - I couldn't be arsed figuring it out. Price: I'll say $150 shipped. Feel free to haggle  Prefer swap for 54/55 only bits (see below).

54/55 bits I need:
Distributors with wire clips and 54 or 55 date code (i.e. K or L) BR8s, or BR2 or BR3
36hp Fuel pumps with the lower screw or boss for lower screw (late 55/56 year model)
28 PCI carbs with small VW symbol
Heart tail light brackets
58 Workshop Manual volume 2 (ok it's not 54/55)

I am more than happy to tip in some cash if needed.

Simon, Birkdale, Brissie, PM

Those are 56-58 fuel pumps.
I am looking for these puppies:

They have a screw in the base.
If anyone has the late 55 with the boss for the screw- but no screw installed then I'd take them too...

I didn't think the early ones had the dome hump on the cap either just in from the fuel inlet .... Would you be interested in the factory fuel pump tool to set those up properly?

Sure would! Is that the VW 328b?

As you said, the 'real' split fuel pump was flat on top with a 8mm threaded inlet. The Zwitter & 53 Oval was also flat but had an 6mm threaded inlet. 54-58 got the bump in the top and 59-60 got the filter.
