The blurb :
This is the gearbox I used to run in Jezebel, and is a brilliant box for circuit and tarmac rally stuff (now run a dedicated hillclimb box). It's
also the nicest shifting Beetle gearbox I've ever driven.
The Quaife diff is what's known as a Torque Biasing Diff... driving around normally you don't even know it's there... there's none of that
juddering effect you get from a friction type LSD. In the wet, low traction or when cornering hard it's brilliant - gives a lot more traction and
makes handling more predictable, with no real change to oversteer/understeer of the car. The T2 output splines make the whole thing pretty damn strong
compared to a normal Quaife, a ZF etc.
If you want to go racing or sprinting with a T1 powered IRS based car, this box would suit you perfectly.
If you've looked into building a box you'll also know it's a good price... the parts alone will set you back a lot more than what I'm asking.
I'd post pics, but really it looks like most any other gearbox. Oh, except it's painted blue...
To cover the "Why are you selling it ?" question that I've gotten a few times now... well basically it's to fund Jezzi's EFI conversion, which I
want to get finished sooner rather than later...
Noice box... I mean gearbox! This is a good price, the Diff is worth 1500+ alone...
Shame I have a swing axle otherwise this would be sweet
Cheers Shaun... just another reason to convert to IRS I'd think !!!
Got a few nibbles, but no takers yet...
yeah good value dave!
Yeah, cheers Daimo.
Thread's been up for two days now... surprised I've still got it !!!

Yeah - so it seems Craig !!! It also doesn't quite fit an EVO hey...
You're right the ratios aren't ideal for drags, but they're spot on if you want a car for a mix of different events and still be nicely streetable.
Possibly even a scooby powered car.
And as to it being blue... well that's nothing a couple hours work and a can of spray enamel can't fix !!!

If it was swing-axle I'd have it.
Cheers for comments guys... appreciate the bump's.
There's a few people in that same "if only I had the $$$" boat, and yeah - been there, done that, got the T-shirt...
how about the - 'if only it was a year ago' boat?
How is the little Hurley car coming along? Has she moved on?
Yeah true Mick - but a year ago it was still in Jezzi !!!
Sold Ike/Betsy to a guy up in Redcliffe a few months back... with basically just a new fuel pump, an axle boot and a wash is re-rego'd and back on
the road... pretty good advertisement for VW engineering I reckon !!!
bump
send ct a message dave...he is finally thinking about a limo diff
bump?
did this sell?
Nope - still got it Shaun.
Several people interested, but all of 'em are "when I get some money".
If only you had an IRS car hey...

Open to reasonable offers. No-one should worry either about "being considered a lowballer"... I don't take offence that easily.
And bump again - price also updated.
I know where a buyer is
.......might have to wait till the nationals supersprints are approaching before people realize they need this Dave
good value!
