WTB Steering Box
Burgo - August 31st, 2010 at 02:41 PM

Hey Hey all,

Got my '74 L-beetle checked out at the mechanics and it turns out my steering box has excessive leaking and is in need of a full replacement.

Anyone have one lying about that I could buy? Needs to be in reasonably good condition.

I am located in North-Brisbane, however will pay for postage if its too far away.

You know you can buy new seals from CBC Bearings?

Works a treat.

L Super beetles [1303S] have a different steering box to "normal" torsion bar beetles...
and they do wear out...

the NEW ones don't last as long as the originals...

torsion bar beetle steering boxes if kept lubricated and adjusted last just about forever..
