Hi Iam after a pair of idf 44's , 45's or 48's carbs to suit my type 1 2007cc build with linkages and filter, budget is about 300 to 500.
If you are talking complete kits - no chance
If you are talking carbs only - you will need a full rebuild and re-jet on top of that cost
40, 44 and 48 are Weber IDF's
45's are Dellorto
For a 2007 I would seriously consider a set of DRLA 40's
$525 US + $38 US shipping
fully rebuilt and jetted to what you want

How Hi Po a motor you talking??
Looking for around the 130hp mark, nothing to crazy, would a pair of 40 dcnf carbs work in your opinion
Hi smithy
Is the 130hp at the wheels or flywheel?
130hp at the wheels from a 2 litre is very possible but not very easy.
I had a set of twin 36dcnf on a 1640cc and they worked quite well for me but it was only a mild engine.
You could notice the fuel surge on the carbs when you pegged it hard into a roundabout. The fuel bowls on the side rather than the middle does
this.
No complaints apart from that.
If you are talking "at the wheels" - I doubt DCNF's would cut it
I doubt 40 DRLA's would cut it
You are into 48 territory - IDF, IDA or DRLA
"maybe" 45 DRLAs
I had a set od DRLAs I bought a while ago for $750 and that was a bargain.
Needed a full rebuild and rejat as well
44 IDF's will do it, only just. As long as you've got everything else to go with it.
As already mentioned $500 wont be enough for a set of 44IDF's.
I've got 40 drla's on my 2054cc putting out 80 horse at the rear wheels and the carbs are a perfect match. If you have 130 at the flywheel you will definitely need 45's. Cheers
I have run several sets of webbers and delorto's, parts are easier to get that the delortos, at the moment i have a 2054 with 44 IDF's and they have no trouble making the amount of power that you are after reliably
Are the empi HPMX carbs any good?
I have heard a LOT of different opinions
Personally - I wouldnt go there
99% sure you can still get Spanish Webers in 44's???
I believe what ever you buy new, Chinese HPMX or Spanish Weber, they will need a pull down and check
Hi mate,
I think i have a set of 40mm dellortos in the shed you can have for $400 - no linkage or filters sorry.
I can dig them up if you like - i bought them from the states a few years back and never used them. Let me know what you think - i am in SA
