smithy68 - December 26th, 2010 at 07:47 AM

I was just looking through some stuff on net, http://www.vw-resource.com/years.html#1961-1970
It says they changed to ball joint in 66?

Pumba - December 26th, 2010 at 07:56 AM

I wouldnt trust the info from half them sites,i was sure 68 was the first balljoint here in australia anyway???

smithy68 - December 26th, 2010 at 07:58 AM

I'll go look at the car when I am awake enough.
So how do I tell the difference? Is it in the shocks?
Thanks for your help vwmad.

Pumba - December 26th, 2010 at 08:03 AM

If its linkpin the shocks at the top have the round eye with the bolt through, balljoint beam have the shock with the top threaded rod going throught the top of the beam,i would show you a picture but i cant upload any,do you have wide 5 wheels or 4 stud???
