maybe a lantern battery 9vlt
should do no harm

its the setting in the car that matters

I got 3 whole 6v carb setups if your interested.

Cheers guys.

Nowt wrong with the carb I have. It's all been cleaned and has not slack in the throttle spindle just has no auto choke.

Chequer57 - to check you connect a battery and hold the accelerator arm fully open so that the choke plate should be closed by the autochoke and then as the bi-metal coil in the choke heats up from the voltage connected to it the choke plate will slowly open ;)

let me know who wants to sell me one as I'm in need :)

Cheers,
Mike

Cheer I'll give that a go tomorrow and let you know. The carbie I have is in bits so it's no drama I'm a 28 PCI man personally ....

They are what you use on the older Formula Vees.

cheers for trying dude. BTW, did you check the plate moved freely before you tried? the Bi-metal strip aint that strong and getting warm is what it's supposed to do ;)

chequer57 - January 8th, 2011 at 07:26 PM

Yep nothing happened .... if you still want it I'll mail it to you with the bottom half of the carb too, you may be able to sort it out.

psimitar - January 8th, 2011 at 09:00 PM

Hmm, just the choke element is needed really and will keep postage down if it is buggered :)

May aswell give it a go before spend $40 on a NOS one :)

is your ceramic section intact???

this is where the elemnt is slotted into

psimitar - January 10th, 2011 at 08:23 PM

The connector has busted lose from the ceramic and I've electrically tested and I get no ohms reading or continuity plus when powered up she do nothing captain :fakesniff:
