I need just the bolts to fit avis adjusters in a beetle,if anyone has some spare that would help a lot.
cheers shane.
heeelllpppp
Try Vintage
From memory they are a USA thread National fine thread UNF hard to fine in a hardware shop
I might give vintage a call friday after work,i tried a bolt supplies here but at $22 each bolt and $4 each nut i think it would be cheaper to buy a net set of adjusters,i thought someone might have a set of bolts they dont need
yeah it may be cheaper to buy a complete unit
what happened to yours did it come loose n fall out ???
No i got the adjusters from a friend who bought them years ago in the states, after i welded them on and tried to fit the bolts i noticed they were to small, they are for the the other style of adjusters where you weld the whole unit in???
I bought new high tensile bolts and cut the heads off. Dont think they were more than about $4-5 each. Dont use the original bolts anyway they are not high tensile and bend when hit with a rubber mallet.
The only place here that has the bolts (high tensile) said $22 each, there dreaming
The AVIS adjuster used the original SIZED VW thread that is M14 x 1.5.
CustomBugs&Buses had bolts you can cut down last time I fitted a set.
Or, you can try this company for an online order:
Just order the length you need and how many.

Didn't like the look of the ones that were supplied, so I used grade 8, M14x1.5 [metric fine] x 50 hex. set screws - with thread all the way. Leave
the head on, as a ring spanner on the 'hex' makes it easier to adjust.
Cheers, Greg
Greg do you remember where you got them from???
cheers shane.
Taxing my short-term memory a bit, but it may have been Fred Tapping at Ingleburn,
Thanks i will try and google them
Its the same as a RH thread tie rod end from a link pin beetle
Cut the rod end off, taper the end to suit the spring pack, double nut the end with 2 lock nuts from your original grub screws .... wallah!
